Jane Raven is an artist who set up her own design and production workshop in Edinburgh in 1998.
Having completed a diploma in Decorative Arts at City and Guilds of London Art School in 1998, she has continued to practice the course’s philosophy of producing ‘functional art’ by launching her wide range of glassware.
Each piece is stencilled and sandblasted by hand, which is why it cannot be produced for a mass market. Having shown her work in galleries around Scotland, she now has clients in countries as diverse as Argentina, America, The Caribbean, China and Australia.
Although a complete departure from glass, Jane’s stonework complements her glassware range perfectly and includes initialled pebbles and personalised wedding, anniversary or christening stones. In 2011, Jane went back to the drawing board - literally - and enrolled on a 3 year full time painting course at the Leith School of Art in Edinburgh. This was followed by a 1 year part time print making course. The results can be seen by clicking on the Paintings and Prints tab above, or clicking on Galleries in the menu..
